Privacy notice

How we treat your data

Brivia Club matches people on what they care about, starting with who is nearby. This page says, in plain words, what that needs from you and what we do with it.

Version 2026-10-05 · effective 5 October 2026

The short version

What we collect

Your area

If you tap Use my location, your phone sends your position once. We turn it into a coarse square about 2 km across and keep only that square. The position itself is not saved, and is never shown to anyone.

If you pick a city instead, we use the centre of that city, never an address, and your area then reads as city-wide.

Other members never see your square. They see a rounded distance (like “~3 km”), or the name of your city or region, and only once enough people are nearby for that to say little about you. Until then you may see a place name instead of a distance.

Private interests

Some interests are sensitive, such as faith, health or orientation. You can add them if you want to, and only after you tick a separate consent box. They are never shown to anyone and do not change who you see.

If we ever want to use them for matching, we will ask you again first. You can withdraw consent at any time in Profile, then Privacy & account. We then delete your private interests straight away and spread their points over your other interests.

Who sees what

Adults only (18+)

Brivia Club is for adults. At signup you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not ask for your date of birth, and we keep the date you confirmed. An under-18 report from a member with a complete profile, on Brivia for at least 7 days, who has been in touch with that person (a like, pass, request, match or message) pauses them while we review it. We review every under-18 report within 72 hours.

How long we keep things

Reports and safety

You can report any member from their card or from a chat, and block them. We aim to read every report. An under-18 report from a member with a complete profile, on Brivia for at least 7 days, who has been in touch with that person (a like, pass, request, match or message) pauses them while we review it. We review every under-18 report within 72 hours.

Reports are kept for 365 days. The person you report is never told who reported them. If you delete your account, reports you made are kept without your name.

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112.
